Dad’s Worksheets Review

Dad's Worksheets Maths Practice - An Island Family By Grace

Since our baby daughter was born last September, I have been trying to stick to our usual routine of homeschooling as much as possible, to make things simple. Our routine has to be flexible, but it lets everyone know roughly what’s coming! Things are a bit different at the moment, as our son approaches his first IGCSE exams this summer, so he is not always doing afternoon activities with our 3 girls now, but our routine is essentially the same, with a bit of tweaking to allow for exam past papers and practice.

Our 8 and 10 year old girls use Singapore Maths’ My Pals books for their maths, which we generally like, although when they come to a chapter on money, we use some British books or workbooks, as Singapore Maths is in dollars. I also find that we sometimes need a bit more reinforcement of a particular maths concept, before that child moves onto the next topic.

In the past, I have used books and workbooks we were given by friends, as well as the lovely Charlotte Mason inspired curriculum ‘Maths for a Living Education (you can read more about that in my post about Homeschool Maths Resources). However, in December my 10 year old daughter needed extra practice with division of numbers in hundreds, and we had already exhausted the extra practice books I have. Helpfully, I had been told about a free resources site called Dad’s Worksheets. It has worksheets for many different aspects of maths, and a new section on Roman numerals.

Our daughter used 3 or 4 of the division worksheets which we printed out over the course of several weeks. In her case, she did the working for these maths questions in her own maths jotter, as they were larger division problems, however for the simpler maths problems, they are set out in such a way that you could easily write on the worksheet. Free printable answer keys are also included, as you can see below, if maths is not your gift!

Dad’s Worksheets is definitely a website that I will be using again along with the other free and cheap maths resources that we already use.

Do you have a recommendation for any particular printable worksheet sites? Please leave a comment and let me know.

I was not compensated in any way for this Dad’s Worksheets review, and the views are 100% my own.
